Dawn graduated from UCLA TFT's directing program in 2010. Her first short film, The Castle, premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival and her short, P.A.L.s, won a coveted UCLA Director's Spotlight Award. Dawn has garnered critical acclaim for her commercial and music video work, collaborating with companies such as Amazon, the Hammer Museum/Kchung.TV, the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles (MOCAtv), and bands Telepathe and Destroyer. Her music video "Kaputt" received critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and Spin magazines, amassing millions of views over YouTube and Vimeo. She is the founder of SPACEOUT TV, a content development house specializing in science fiction and interactive media. In her spare time she likes to write J Peterman-esque copy for a Los Angeles based vintage furniture company, Vangsgarcia.
Over the past 8 years she’s worked as an ethnographer for multiple market research firms focusing on Latinx communities on complex issues such as Alzheimer's, childcare, and social media habits. As someone of Mexican & Danish descent she strives to communicate through cross-cultural narratives and represents a growing movement of women directors in science fiction. Currently she’s developing a feature length version of “PALS” and the TV series, “At the Mall”.
